DEAR CHILD (2016)
Paul (Paul Woodson), a photojournalist broken by his work in war zones, has escaped to paradise to drown his pain. He is encouraged to take up the camera one more time by an aide worker Koloami (Jessica Cores), to help a community of children in the Northern suburbs of Rio. Here he finds the harsh realities of the victims of drug trafficking and the beauty of their endurance.
Shot in Rio de Janeiro within real communities, this film is a hybrid drama and documentary which blends a fictional story with real people and real events.
Written and directed by Luca Ammendola.
Music by Zbignew Preisner (The Three Colours Trilogy, The Double Life of Veronique)
Status: In Post-post production
